Funeral Director: Lauren McLean
“I believe in choice, storytelling and creating space to honour life”
Picaluna Funerals Redland Bay, the origin story…
Hi, I’m Lauren, your local Funeral Director. Although, I’d say a more fitting title is ‘Funeral Guide & Story Teller’.
I support individuals and families in the Redlands and surrounds to plan meaningful, personal farewells. Anything from a simple cremation, intimate burial, a full ceremony or something entirely bespoke.
I grew up in Penrith, NSW, in a community that taught me the value of connection. In 2020, with the world forever changed due to the pandemic, I found myself rethinking life and purpose. I first became a marriage celebrant, then in 2021 found my calling extended to deathcare, where the work is deeply human, heartfelt, and honest.
I believe in choice, storytelling, and creating space to honour life in a way that feels right. That might mean a traditional funeral in a chapel. It might mean something creative, symbolic, or entirely outside the box. Some people don’t want a funeral at all, and that’s okay too.
Since moving to the Redlands in 2024, I continue this work in partnership with @picalunafunerals. A community of independent funeral professionals who share my values of transparency, compassion, and doing things differently.
Whether you're planning ahead for yourself, supporting a loved one, or simply curious about what’s possible, I’m here to guide you.
Let’s talk about it. Death isn’t taboo here , it’s part of the story.
– Lauren
